GB120 CarryOn Scooter Battery UL Labeling Notification

Golden has been notified by UL LLC, located at 333 Pfingsten Road, Northbrook, IL 60062, that there was a misplaced UL certification marking on the battery pack used in the GB120 Buzzaround CarryOn Scooter with the following model numbers:

GB120A-STD-BLU-BLK

GB120A-STD-RED-BLK

Our supplier inadvertently placed the UL mark label on the exterior of the battery pack instead of directly on the Lithium ion cells inside the pack. The UL certification is for the battery cells, rather than the pack.

The battery packs themselves have not been UL certified which means that the battery packs were not tested for compliance with a UL safety standard. They have been tested for compliance with the safety standards set forth by the FDA and the European Union.

The UL markings, pictured in Appendix A, B and C shown on this webpage and circled in yellow, must be covered as a corrective measure.

At the request of the Underwriters Laboratories Inc., we are providing our retailers with this notification and a set of black labels to cover the indicated markings as pictured on any existing inventory.
